Interesting...

So all of a sudden I find myself drinking coffee at my office.  I have to wonder what it is that's gotten me to start, because I have never, ever been a coffee person.

Okay, so there's a lack of sleep, sure.  Still, I had less sleep in college and was probably even sleepier in the mornings.  I didn't drink coffee then.

I think it's a combination of not getting more than 6.5-7 hours of sleep, having to sit around for three hours instead of one or so before a break, and not having much interaction between people.  On top of all that, I'm in a somewhat hot room (By my standards), with a desk facing a wall and a big light right above me.

It's freakin hard to stay awake.

I think the biggest factor is that I'm here, early in the morning, trying to force myself to read through a giant book on this Parallax microprocessor and learn the code.  I think I need more human interaction than that.  Maybe even a window would help, or a desk that faces out instead of into a corner.  I dunno.  There's no energy in here to perk me up.  Then again, maybe I just need that extra hour of rest.

Anyway, apparently I'm drinking coffee with a reasonable amount of sugar and a lot of cream.  Is anyone surprised at that combo for me?  I can't say I am.

Edit: After more reading, yes, the reading isn't helping me stay awake.  My eyes are closing for up to thirty seconds at a time.  At work, that's bad, eep!  Maybe I should nap during my lunch if I can find some contact solution, heh.

eeek, sleeping at work - that's never good! When you get tired, get up and walk around. That usually helps me. Oh, and chewing gum... something about minty chewing gum and the chewing motion helps me stay awake. You should try it :)

Gum would probably work well. Anyway, I haven't slept at work yet, and I've started going to bed a tad earlier. It's helping a lot. I don't need coffee, dammit!

Yeah, everyone I know who drinks coffee is addicted. I actually read that an apple wakes you up better than coffee. Might want to try that too :)

But I can't drag out getting an apple for 15 minutes like I can having a drink! D:

I need to add more to that profile sometime. I just can't remember all the stuff I used to put down. I'm sure it'll come eventually!

Diablo 3 will be the culmination of every single community I'm a part of. It'll be like facebook for gamers. Fucking awesome.
